DENVER, COLO. (7/7/09) --
Swallow Hill Music is pleased to welcome back
Acoustic Guitar magazine's "Most Promising Talent of the Year," Trace Bundy,
as he takes their Daniels Hall stage on Saturday, August 15 at 8
p.m. Trace Bundy must not only be heard,
but seen. Trace Bundy is poetry in motion, using harmonics, looping, multiple
capos, and his unique banter and stage presence to deliver an unforgettable live
concert experience. Trace has sold over 40,000 CDs on his record label, Honest
Ninja Music, and has sold-out shows with standing ovations at venues across the
USA and around the world. Video clips circulate virally at astonishing speed,
with over 3,000,000 views to date.
Born in Austin, Minn., Bundy moved to Buena
Vista, Colo. during his childhood, where he first picked up the guitar and
started teaching himself Metallica and Def Leppard tunes. He began playing in
public in his high school years, mainly Dylan and Cat Stevens covers in the
local coffee shops. He went to college at the University of Colorado at Boulder
and has been a resident of Boulder ever since. In addition to playing solo, he's
made on-stage appearances with Newcomers Home and Derek Webb of Caedmon's Call.
Accolades for Bundy include First Place as "Most Promising New Talent of the
Year" and Third Place as "Best Fingerstyle Guitarist of the Year" by Acoustic
Guitar magazine (2008) and First Place in the Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar
Contest at Guitars on the River, Salida, Colo. He will also be performing at Red
Rocks as part of the World's Largest Music Lesson on Tuesday, July 28, presented
by the Denver Film Society and Swallow Hill Music.
Opening the show is Aaron Espe, a buzz worthy newcomer who was named winner of
the 2008 Emerging Artist Contest at the Four Corners Folk Festival.
